Development and cooperation

The story of the Maasheggen is nowhere near finished. Instead it is time to turn the page to a new chapter.

The opportunities offered by the UNESCO Man and Biosphere status are perfectly in line with the ambitions for the Maasheggen as described in the Northern Meuse valley Imprementation Programme (in Dutch), a joint program with the area partners, in which the Maasheggen plays a key role.

The aim of this joint programme is to together work on related goals such as housing, economic development, tourism and recreation, landscape development, cultural history, agriculture, water and sustainability. This implementation programme serves as a solid base for cooperation in the region. The implementation programme describes the ambitions for, goals and projects in the Maasheggen area.

The following area partners work together in and around the Maasheggen: the municipality of Boxmeer, the municipality of Cuijk, Staatsbosbeheer, Vereniging Nederlands Cultuurlandschap, Brabants Landschap, Waterschap Aa en Maas, SlaBox, ZLTO and province of Noord-Brabant.
